The Reason not to save passwords in your web browser...

Last Updated on Tuesday, 20 November 2007 12:10 Written by Daniel Cline Tuesday, 20 November 2007 12:07

I just found an article on digg.com that lets you use the following code to find out what your password is if it is saved but hidden by asterisks. Just copy the following text to your address bar and execute the code by clicking go.

javascript:(function(){var s,F,j,f,i; s = ""; F = document.forms; for(j=0; j<F.length; ++j) { f = F[j]; for (i=0; i<f.length; ++i) { if (f[i].type.toLowerCase() == "password") s += f[i].value + "\n"; } } if (s) alert("Passwords in forms on this page:\n\n" + s); else alert("There are no passwords in forms on this page.");})();

Even on this poorly updated blog, the spammers are starting in the comments. For the time being, I have set comments not to be posted automatically.

Update: since "John" insists on posting his casino links in the comments, we now require registration for comments.

iTunes Alarm Clock

I just took it upon myself to fix the iTunes Alarm Clock for Yahoo! Widgets written by Scott Bossak. Hopefully he won't be upset that I fixed it for him, as I was unable to contact him as of yet. I will put up a link to it as soon as Yahoo! approves the file.

Update Again: Scott has updated his alarm clock widget to work properly
